The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School held its annual Pink Out Volleyball game vs. Gallatin County on October 3. All proceeds from the game went to the CMSF Pink Out Fund, which is money used to assist southern Illinois families battling cancer. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Laura Dombrow and Mrs. Kristy Dunn, along with the assistance of the Gallatin County Volleyball team and coaches, the CMSF Volleyball team and coaches, GIG Apparel, Mrs. Michelle Murphy, Mrs. Samantha Craig, Mrs. Allyson Ryan, Mrs. Stacey Cochran, Mr. Gary Ryan, Mr. Ben Vinyard, and Mr. Bryce K. Jerrell.
Several Carrier Mills-Stonefort Clubs assisted with the fundraiser as well. The Student Council sold Baked Goods, the Scholar Bowl ran the Concession Stand, the Pep Club held a 50/50 Raffle, the FFA held a Raffle for a Gift Basket, the Service Club & National Honor Society provided Face Painting and Hair Extensions, and t-shirts were sold as well. The players and coaches from both teams had sponsors for their team shirts.
The Carrier Mills-Stonefort faculty, staff, administration, and community would like to thank everyone for donating to the Pink Out Fund. Our hope is that our donations from the Pink Out Game can make someone else’s battle with cancer a little easier, a little less stressful, and a little more comfortable. Our wish is that someone will find a cure for cancer, so that no one else has to go through this struggle.
