The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School varsity scholar bowl team (3-1) took its first loss of the season Wednesday to the undefeated Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Cardinals (3-0). After trailing 70-0 in the 5th round of 24, the Cardinals came back to take the lead 180-170 in the 18th round, eventually winning 250-190. Wildcats senior captain Jade Nalley led the team with 150 points. Senior Carson Van Dyke and freshman Jeremiah Beck each scored 20 points in the varsity match. The junior varsity Wildcats (1-3) also dropped their match 230-160 to the JV Cardinals. Sophomore Olivia Hunt led the JV team with 80 points. Freshmen Maddison Ellis and Summer Janaskie each scored 30, and freshman JV captain Khloe Kidd scored 20. The Wildcats are off until Dec. 3, when they host Galatia for their first home match of the season.
