The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School Scholar Bowl team earned a split against Greater Egyptian Conference rival Gallatin County on February 8.
The varsity Wildcats (8-3) got off to a 60-0 start in the first quarter and won 120-80 over the Hawks. GEC all-conference sophomore Jade Nalley led the Wildcats with 60 points. Junior Brianna Cullers scored 40, and junior Devyn Valdez scored 20.
The junior varsity Wildcats (8-3) ended a six-game winning streak, losing to the JV Hawks 180-120. Freshman captain Brayden Harmon led the JV Cats with 50 points. Freshman Lilian Crawford scored 30, freshman Brayden Kirk scored 20, sophomore Cadence Boaz scored 10, and freshman Taylor Dombrow scored the first 10 points of her scholar bowl career.
The Wildcats are off until next week, when they host GEC tournament champion Galatia on Tuesday.
