Attention Wildcat Community: Due to the severe thunderstorms early this morning, we are without power in both Carrier Mills and Stonefort. The power outage along with the potential for more storms this morning means that Carrier Mills-Stonefort schools will not be in session today. Please stay safe.
The next total solar eclipse to visit North America will be April 8, 2024. For us, this eclipse is scheduled to last up to 4 minutes and 8 seconds, with the partial eclipse beginning at 12:42 pm, the total eclipse beginning at 1:59 pm, and the partial eclipse ending by 3:18 pm. This will almost double the time of the Great American Eclipse from August 21, 2017.
Due to safety concerns, all students will be dismissed from the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Grade School and High School at 12:00 pm next Monday, April 8. Your student will be given their eclipse glasses as they leave school that day.

The PTO Pastry Fundraiser items will be delivered tomorrow. The pickup will be at 1:30 pm tomorrow at the cafeteria doors. Everything must be picked up due to it needing to be refrigerated and spring break coming up next week. Also remember the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 students will be dismissed at 1:45 tomorrow and spring break is March 25-29. Have a great break!!

Only 1 day away! Tickets for “The Rainbow Fish Musical” are on sale, you can still buy tickets at the door. $10 for adults and $5 for students. Our show will be held at the George T. Dennis Performing Arts Center at Southeastern Illinois College on Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00pm and Thursday, March 21st at 7:00pm. Please contact Mr. Long at clong@cmsfcats.org for your tickets.

Tonight, Carrier Mills-Stonefort Elementary School will host our spring open house. The open house will be from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm and will also include a free meal for our Wildcats and their families in our cafeteria. During the open house, our school will also be kicking off the One School One Book Event and students will receive a copy of the book How to Eat Fried Worms. We will have games in the gym! The book fair will be open in the library with all proceeds helping fund new books for our school and classroom libraries. We hope you can join us tonight for our open house!

Tomorrow, Friday, March 1 is spring picture day at Carrier Mills-Stonefort Grade School. Please remember to send the form back with your child if you would like to purchase spring pictures. We will only be taking pictures of the students who have forms. Also, volleyball individual and team pictures will be taken. Please remember to send your child's uniform for pictures.
The 5/6 grade basketball game will be played at home tonight at 5:00 pm instead of 6:00 pm.
The volleyball game for tonight at Gallatin County will be played at 5:00 pm. The bus will leave at 4:00 pm. The girls need to be at the school at 3:45 pm. There will not be a 6th grade game tonight. The JV game will start at 5:00 pm followed by the varsity game.
